Green Cleaning Schools Act Draft Guidelines Available for Comment

December 11, 2007

The new law will protect the health of students and school employees by requiring Illinois schools to change their cleaning programs and use non-toxic “green” products and practices. Illinois joins New York State in the groundbreaking legislation that will  reduce children’s exposure to irritants and toxic chemicals while protecting the health of custodial staff who work with the cleaning supplies.

Draft guidelines for the Green Cleaning Schools Act have been published and are available for viewing and commenting.

Your comments will help ensure that this pioneering new policy is successfully implemented.
