February 11, 2009

Source: Responsible Purchasing Network

Searching for competitive bids on recycled office paper or green cleaners? These products are now directly linked to U.S. Communities’ cost-saving cooperative contracts – just search for paper or cleaners in our green products database, then click on the U.S. Communities contract and you are on your way to saving green and going green.

RPN has updated its paper product database to include information regarding the U.S. Communities’ cooperative contract through Office Depot, lead by Los Angeles County. Look for quick links in the Responsible Purchasing Guide for Copy Paper to the database, wherever preferable products are mentioned.

Buying through cooperative contracts with organizations such as U.S. Communities leverages the purchasing power of many agencies and organizations to increase the availability and quality of greener goods across the marketplace.  It also saves participating organizations money and valuable time.  Any 501(c)3 non-profit or non-federal government agency can use US Communities contracts without paying a fee.

Find green cleaners available through U.S. Communities’ Zep Cleaners contract in RPN’s cleaning products database.

In addition to the new info on the U.S. Communities contract, the Responsible Purchasing Guide for Copy Paper was also recently updated to include Paper Steps, the new hierarchy of environmentally preferable papers created by the Environmental Paper Network.  Paper Steps can be found on EPN's new website,
